API connections and middleware solutions

We connect systems through APIs and build middleware solutions where a simple connection is not enough. We receive data from one system, process it according to the required logic, fill in missing information and send it onwards.

Not every connection is simple. Sometimes it is not enough to send data from one API to another. Data needs to be adjusted, validated, remapped, enriched with additional information or split across multiple systems.

In such cases we build middleware, an intermediate layer between systems. It ensures that data arrives in the right format, with the right logic and in the right place.

What is middleware

Middleware is a technical layer between two or more systems. It receives data from one system, processes it according to rules and sends it to another system or multiple systems.

Outcome

What your company gains

Systems that hand data to each other automatically and in the right shape
One event triggers a whole chain of processes at once

In practice

Use cases

Logic between two APIs

One system sends data via an API. The other system needs to receive it, but in a different format and with different fields. There must therefore be a process between them that:

  1. 1receives data from the first API
  2. 2checks it
  3. 3adjusts its structure
  4. 4fills in missing data
  5. 5remaps the fields
  6. 6sends the data to the second API

Order synchronization

An order comes from the e-shop via an API. The order itself, however, does not contain all the data the next system needs. The middleware therefore:

  1. 1receives the order
  2. 2looks up customer data
  3. 3looks up billing data
  4. 4fills in product information
  5. 5adjusts the order structure
  6. 6validates required fields
  7. 7sends the order to the warehouse, invoicing system or courier service

Connecting multiple systems

A single event in the e-shop can trigger several processes. The middleware ensures these processes run in the right order and with the right data:

  1. 1creating an invoice
  2. 2sending the order to the warehouse
  3. 3sending data to the courier
  4. 4writing the customer to the CRM
  5. 5triggering an e-mail automation
  6. 6creating an internal report
  7. 7a notification to Telegram

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When is a direct connection enough and when do we need middleware?

If data just needs to be passed from one system to another, you don't need middleware and we won't sell it to you. It comes in when data needs to be transformed, validated, enriched or split across multiple systems in the right order.

What if our system has no API?

We can also work with exports, feeds, a database or e-mails. If the data can be reached reliably, we can connect it.

How do you handle errors and outages?

Logging, retries, notifications and monitoring are part of every solution from day one, not a paid extra.

Where does the middleware run and who owns it?

On infrastructure of your choice: your server or your cloud. The code and the access belong to you. No vendor lock-in.
